Statement by the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus in connection with another nuclear test conducted by North Korea on September 9, 2016 (September 9, 2016, Minsk)
With deep concern Belarus has learned the latest news from the Korean Peninsula.
Another nuclear test conducted by North Korea violates both norms of international law and the provisions of a number of the UN Security Council resolutions. Such actions pose threat to the security and stability not only in the North-East Asia, but all around the world.
Sustainable peace and stability can only be achieved through dialogue and mutual respect.
We call upon the DPRK to avoid actions that can lead to the aggravation of tension in the region, return to the negotiating table and join the major international instruments in the field of nuclear non-proliferation.
