Statement of the Press-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs In Connection With Seizure of Hostages In Moscow
It is with anxiety and concern that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus received information that large number of hostages was taken on October 23, 2002 in the Theater center in Moscow.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus reiterates its firm adherence to absolute rejection of terrorist methods as a means to reaching any goals. Violence cannot be justified by any motives. We condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
Belarusian Foreign Service together with the world community closely follows the situation with the hostages taken in Moscow and hopes for its safe resolution.
