Belarus' Chairmanship of the EAEU in the Foreign Ministry's Quotes
Minister M.Ryzhenkov in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel (March 18, 2025)
Our priorities as the Chairman of the EAEU are very clear. These are economic integration, innovative cooperation, introduction of greater digitalisation in our relations, import-substitution projects, including industrial cooperation, humanitarian direction and increasing the international positioning of our organisation. There are a number of proposals from the Belarusian side, including obtaining the appropriate status of the EAEU in the UN as a partner of this international organisation.
Deputy Minister P.Utyupin at the round table "The Future of the EAEU: Belarus in the Forefront of Integration Processes" (March 19, 2025)
Every year the efficiency of integration work in the EAEU increases. Figures show how effectively the economies of the EAEU countries have developed thanks to their membership in the Union. And these figures are quite impressive, in my opinion. For the second year in a row, the economic growth rates of the EAEU member states are above the world average. According to the preliminary estimate of the EEC, the aggregate GDP of the EAEU in 2024 will grew by 4%, which is higher than the previous year's level (3.8%) and the world average (3.2%). Foreign trade directly depends on the economic processes that take place in the economies of the EAEU countries and shows their competitiveness. The results of mutual trade between the EAEU member states for 10 years show overwhelmingly positive dynamics: since 2015, internal trade has doubled. By the end of 2024, its volume approached $100 billion. The share of mutual trade in the EAEU foreign trade turnover is almost 20%, which is the highest since the creation of the Union.
Ambassador of Belarus to Russia A.Rogozhnik in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta (April 2, 2025)
Our country is consistently promoting initiatives to form a balanced agrarian market of the Union based on deepened interstate cooperation and common safety standards. We propose to pay special attention to the creation of single markets for agricultural plant seeds and breeding animals and the formation of a common market for organic agricultural products. At the same time, we believe it is important to focus on the introduction and development of digital systems for product safety management and traceability of products "from field to counter", import substitution, and the development of our own scientific and technological research.
